About this site

Japan Data Center Watch is an open database that continuously tracks data center facilities and development plans in Japan together with their sources — official announcements, government documents, and news reports. Its purpose is to give communities a starting point for recognizing the projects taking shape around them.

This site is not an official regulatory registry. Listings do not determine the illegality or impropriety of any facility or operator; every entry is published with an explicit evidence level (E1–E5). Corrections and error reports are welcome through the contact on each facility page.

The Japanese pages are the primary record. Where an English version of a page does not exist yet, the English navigation links to the Japanese page rather than hiding it. We never switch language automatically by IP address.

Maps use the pale-tone GSI Tiles published by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan.
